2. Cloudbric News

This March, Cloudbric participated in “Security Days 2021,” the largest infosec event in Japan. “Security Days” is an all-inclusive online/offline event that covers the latest cybersecurity trends in an expo and a series of seminars. This year, the event was hosted in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka as well as their online counterparts with about 20,000 attendees. Ms. Jin, the Regional Director of Cloudbric (Penta Security KK), also presented on the topic of “Undetected Cyberthreats and the Need for User-centric Security.” She reached out to the 200 attendees and was able to convert 65% of them into meaningful leads for Cloudbric. Cloudbric will continue to partake in online and offline events and host webinars to approach our consumers more effectively.

Everyone knows that Cryptobric’s “DOUBLE REWARD” event is ongoing until May 8th, right? Cloudbric’s digital asset security app Cryptobric is designed to protect personal mobile devices from infected crypto-related apps. To celebrate the new update of our app 2.0 (which now includes Kakao Klip wallet service), we’re giving out 100 CLBK tokens to those who run Crypto App scans on Cryptobric. 3. Security News

  • Lazarus hacking group now hides payloads in BMP image files — ZDNet
A phishing document attributed to Lazarus revealed the use of an interesting technique designed to obfuscate payloads in image files. The attack chain begins with a phishing Microsoft Office document (참가신청서양식.doc) and a lure in the Korean language. Intended victims are asked to enable macros in order to view the file’s content, which, in turn, triggers a malicious payload.
  • Foreign threat actors used fake LinkedIn profiles to lure 10,000 UK nationals — SC Media
Some 10,000 U.K. nationals have been lured on LinkedIn over the past five years by fake profiles tied to hostile nation-state threat actors. These malicious profiles are being used on an industrial scale.
  • School District’s Files Leaked in $40m Ransomware Attack — Infosecurity
Broward County Public Schools was targeted by the Conti ransomware gang at the beginning of March in an attack that caused a shutdown of its computer system but left classes undisturbed. Conti demanded that the sixth-largest school district in the United States hand $40m of its annual $4bn budget over to them.
